Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and Restoration: Assess vehicle damage and perform repairs, including replacing body parts, realigning frames, and applying finishes.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain repair processes, provide estimates, and address any concerns.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize various tools and equipment for tasks such as grinding, sanding, welding, and painting.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets factory specifications and quality standards.
- Documentation: Prepare damage reports and maintain accurate records of repairs performed.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while working in the shop.
Essential Duties:
- Review damage reports to estimate repair costs.
- Remove damaged vehicle components (e.g., fenders, bumpers).
- Hammer out dents and imperfections using hand tools.
- Fill depressions with body filler and sand surfaces for painting.
- Apply primers and paint using spray guns or brushes.
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure proper handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in auto body repair preferred.
- Previous experience as an auto body technician or in a related field.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Prolonged standing, bending, and manual dexterity required.
- Exposure to hazardous materials; must comply with safety protocols.
Work Environment: The Auto Body Technician will work in a fast-paced repair shop environment. The role may require occasional overtime based on workload demands.
