Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Assistant Produce Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge in the produce field which will also play a crucial role in supporting the produce manager in daily operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of computers and a passion for retail management, as you will be responsible for training staff, managing inventory, and fostering a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily produce dept operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Train, develop, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Closing and opening shifts of the dept.
- Working well with others in the dept to gain a high level of production.
- Being flexible to work all shifts 7 days of the week.
- Support sales initiatives by promoting products and encouraging team engagement in achieving sales targets.
- Ordering and Manage inventory levels, including stock replenishment and organization of merchandise displays.
- Good understanding of computer skills
- Maintain store standards regarding cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising.
- Collaborate with the produce manager on budgeting and financial planning to optimize profitability.
- Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback to foster growth within the team.
Skills
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Current or past produce dept skills
- Experience in training development to enhance team capabilities and performance.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Proficient in produce department practices with a focus on retail operations.

- Background in produce or retail sales with an understanding of effective sales strategies.
- Strong phone etiquette for effective communication with customers and vendors.
- Experience in sales management to support revenue growth initiatives.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes to assist in financial planning for the store.
