ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER - FULL TIME

As Assistant Production Manager, you will be involved in many aspects of managing production, raw material inventory, procurement, quality control, logistics, but just as with rest of us, the job description isn’t a straightforward one. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task and adapt to the ever-changing demands of a rapidly growing brand. We are a growing business and we anticipate the Assistant Production Manager to have a greater role within 1-2 years. This job requires you to be at our facility full time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Production – Assist Production Manager with all aspects of production including but not limited to:
o Raw material purchasing
o Raw material inventory management
o Preparation of raw materials and packaging for production (physical effort/lifting upwards of 50lbs will be required)
· Logistics – Aid in organizing company logistics related to production
o Work closely with the Production Manager to coordinate all logistics around raw materials, packaging, & finished goods movement to and from production facilities
· Quality Assurance – Work closely with the QA Associate with certain aspects of quality assurance including but not limited to:
o Maintaining CFIA and Organic Certification
o Internal Health and Safety and GMP programs
o Consumer complaint communication, investigation, and documentation process
o External lab testing / sampling
o Supplier approval program, CofA’s and MSDS documentation
o Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs, PCPs, and HACCP plans
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post-secondary education in food science or food manufacturing is an asset
· Experience in the food manufacturing is an asset
· Must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail
· Forklift/Powerjack capabilities are an asset
· Must be proficient with MS Office, ability to learn and operate custom ERP software
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Goal oriented, team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
