Job Title: Airport Security Agent
Position Summary
As an Airport Security Agent, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, airport personnel, and infrastructure. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing aviation security protocols to prevent, detect, and respond to potential threats. This front-line position requires a high level of vigilance, professionalism, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, baggage, and cargo using advanced security screening technologies.
- Monitor airport premises to detect and respond to security risks, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency response teams during incidents and investigations.
- Enforce compliance with security policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain security equipment such as metal detectors.
- Communicate screening procedures to passengers clearly and professionally.
- Stay up to date on evolving aviation security regulations, procedures, and threat intelligence.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations in collaboration with airport authorities and emergency services.
- Conduct scheduled and random security checks to serve as a visible deterrent.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); post-secondary education in criminology, law enforcement, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with airport screening procedures and security technologies.
- Strong observational skills and situational awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain all required airport security clearances, including background checks.
Required Certifications
- Valid Security Guard Licence (mandatory)
- Red Pass (RAIC) and D/A Permit (preferred)
Work Schedule
- Availability for day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts
- Flexibility to work any day from Sunday to Saturday, including holidays as required
