Job Overview:
We’re looking for energetic, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Afterschool Program Leaders at the Superdome at Ben Franklin Park. This role is ideal for anyone who enjoys working with children in a fun, active, and structured environment. As a Program Leader, you’ll be responsible for delivering engaging activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, and creating a welcoming and positive afterschool experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children from SK to Grade 6 in a safe and inclusive environment
- Walking students from Knoxdale Public School to the Superdome at Ben Franklin Park (1.4 km walk)
- Plan and lead recreational games, sports, crafts, and structured free-play
- Provide guidance and positive role modeling to participants
- Support transitions such as arrival, snack time, and pick-up
- Maintain program standards for safety, cleanliness, and behavior
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, coworkers, and supervisors
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a recreational, camp, or school setting is an asset
- Ability to lead activities and manage a group of children independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (mandatory for all successful candidates)
