Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Admissions Counselor to join our Admissions/Enrollment team. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting prospective students and driving enrollment efforts by effectively promoting our academic programs, campus life, and student services. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for higher education and strong interpersonal skills to help guide students through the admissions process. Knowledge of the domestic market and experience in immigration services or working within a college environment are strong assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Recruitment: Actively recruit prospective students by promoting academic programs, campus culture, and student services through direct outreach (phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings).
- Event Representation: Represent the college at recruitment events such as college fairs, high school visits, and open houses.
- Lead Generation: Identify and follow up on leads from inquiries, applications, and outreach programs to ensure a strong pipeline of prospective students.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and other influencers to enhance recruitment efforts.
- Admissions Support: Assist prospective students with questions related to the admissions process, including program offerings, scholarships, financial aid, and campus life.
- Data Management: Utilize CRM tools to track prospective student interactions, follow-ups, and conversions. Maintain accurate records of communications and progress toward recruitment goals.
- Sales Targets: Meet or exceed enrollment goals by guiding prospective students through the application process and ensuring timely submission of applications and documents.
- Campus Tours & Information Sessions: Conduct virtual and in-person campus tours and information sessions to showcase academic offerings and student life.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales, marketing, or higher education (preferred but not required).
- Previous sales, customer service experience, or experience working in a college environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of the domestic market, including trends and opportunities in student recruitment.
- Previous experience in immigration services or working with international students is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse student populations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet enrollment goals.
- Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar tools) is preferred.
- A passion for higher education and helping students succeed.
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally regionally for recruitment events.
