Orbit Garant's Geotechnical Division provides geotechnical and environmental drilling services for mining and mineral exploration companies, construction, engineering and environmental consultants and government agencies.
Overview
We are looking to strengthen the Geotechnical Division with a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Technician to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our office environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in various office management tasks. As an Administrative Technician, you will be responsible for supporting daily administrative functions, maintaining employee and job related records, and assisting the operations in various manners.
Duties
- Manage front desk operations, including greeting visitors and handling inquiries.
- Operate multi-line phone systems to assist with incoming calls and customer support.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently while maintaining confidentiality.
- Responsible for administrative functions related to Human Resources, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Inventory, and Payroll.
- Utilize QuickBooks for bookkeeping and financial record management as needed.
- Provide clerical support including filing, proofreading documents, and managing correspondence.
- Maintain organized office records and ensure that all files are up to date.
- Assist with calendar management for scheduling appointments and meetings.
- Support the team with Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, and other software tools.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while handling customer inquiries and concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance office efficiency and workflow.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably with a focus on office management or clerical duties.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP software.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus for bookkeeping responsibilities.
- Bilingual (English & French) candidates are encouraged to apply
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry and documentation.
- Previous experience as a dental or medical receptionist is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and support in a busy environment.
