The Opportunity
Aakom-Kiyii Health Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Administrative Intake/Exit Support Worker. The Administrative Intake/Exit Support Worker provides front-line administrative support for clients entering and exiting medical services within Aakom-Kiyii Health Services (AKHS). This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and organized environment for clients seeking care. The Intake/Exit Support Worker manages client information, schedules, documentation, and coordination with medical care teams while upholding privacy and cultural sensitivity. The Intake/Exit Support Worker plays a key role in helping clients feel welcomed, informed, and supported, contributing to the overall effectiveness and accessibility of care.
Role & Responsibilities
● Greet clients upon arrival and assist with the intake process in a welcoming, culturally safe, and non-judgmental manner.
● Complete intake and discharge forms, verify client information, and ensure accurate documentation of all administrative records.
● Coordinate logistics related to client admissions and discharges, including transportation, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
● Maintain up-to-date client files and data logs, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy protocols.
● Serve as a communication link between clients, healthcare staff, and support programs.
● Respond to client and family inquiries with professionalism and empathy, offering guidance or connecting them with appropriate resources.
● Track client flow and availability of detox beds to support service coordination and reporting.
● Assist with administrative duties such as data entry, filing, generating service reports, and supply tracking.
● Help maintain an organized and calming reception and administrative space for clients and staff.
● Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and team-based planning to support continuous service improvement.
Required Qualifications:
● Education:
○ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
○ Post-secondary education in office administration, health services, or a related field is considered an asset.
● Knowledge:
○ Understanding of administrative procedures in a health or human services environment, including recordkeeping and client confidentiality.
○ Comfort with basic computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry platforms.
