Play a vital role in preserving Sḵwx̱wú7mesh snew̓íyelh (teachings) as the administrative backbone of Paháyikwup (Language Commission). Your work will directly support language revitalization efforts that reconnect our people to our ancestral tongue, strengthening cultural identity across generations. Help build systems that honor our past while creating pathways for language fluency in our Úxwumixw (community).
What You’ll Do
- Serve as primary administrative support for Paháyikwup operations and communications
- Coordinate meeting logistics including scheduling, agendas, and minute-taking
- Maintain accurate financial records and process invoices/budget tracking
- Prepare reports and presentations with attention to cultural protocols
- Act as first point of contact for language stakeholders with wenáxws (respect)
- Support language research projects and data collection efforts
- Manage documentation and records for language revitalization initiatives
- Work independently to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Collaborate with Elders, speakers, and department teams
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years experience in administrative/financial support roles
- Proficiency with office software (MS Office, databases, financial systems)
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong written/verbal communication abilities
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations/communities
- Knowledge of Squamish Nation culture and protocols (preferred)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision needs
- Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Salary: $ 47,000 - $66,00 annually
Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
