Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addictions Counsellor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction. This position requires a strong commitment to helping clients achieve recovery and improve their overall well-being. The Addictions Counsellor will work closely with clients, families, and other professionals to develop effective treatment plans and facilitate recovery-oriented services.
Duties
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs and strengths of clients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address the specific challenges faced by each client.
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to support clients in their recovery journey.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes.
- Facilitate educational workshops on addiction prevention and recovery strategies.
- Offer support to families affected by addiction, providing resources and guidance for their involvement in the recovery process.
- Willing to work Thursday to Sunday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Proficiency in computer operation, including familiarity with software such as Microsoft Word for documentation purposes.
- Leadership abilities to guide clients through their recovery journey and inspire hope.
- Administrative skills for maintaining records and coordinating with other service providers.
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently within a busy environment.
- Experience working with children or youth is a plus, as it may be relevant for specific client demographics.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, ensuring clarity in presentations and documentation.
- Knowledge of bilingual communication (e.g., French) can be beneficial when serving diverse populations.
