What is your opportunity?

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will support the valuation, reporting, and analysis of Participating products and Segregated Fund products. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with IFRS 17, actuarial modeling, and product performance monitoring in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What will you do?

  • Supporting and enhancing the actuarial and risk management functions for participating life and Seg Fund blocks. This includes support for month-end valuation and reporting, mortality studies and actuarial modelling.
  • Working with the business and other functional partners on strategic projects and tactical actions, and assist these areas in achieving their goals
  • Support regulatory changes, for example, IFRS 17 enhancements.
  • Preparing, distributing and helping interpret actuarial or financial reports for internal and external use.
  • Participating in projects involving product development, pricing, reserving and reinsurance issues.
  • Gathering and analyzing relevant data from a variety of sources using multiple actuarial tools and techniques.
  • Assisting in implementing policies and practices for the design and pricing of insurance financial products.

What will you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science. Other relevant Majors (e.g. Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics) are acceptable if accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial concepts
  • Completion of 2 or more actuarial exams (SOA or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be an innovative thinker and understand the "big picture"
  • High energy, results-oriented self-starter with the ability to achieve under tight deadlines in a rewarding and fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Excel; exposure to AXIS, Python, R, or SQL is an asset
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic actuarial role

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Working experience with Power BI, R or Tableau
  • Experience working with teams across different platforms
