Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? We’re looking for a reliable and efficient Accounts Payable Clerk / Accounting Assistant to support our finance team and help manage vendor relationships in the dynamic world of timber and logging operations at our Harrison Mills office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process high volume vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Match purchase orders with receipts and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile statements and maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions
- Assist in month-end closing and reporting and additional support as needed (Government remittances, bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable posting, etc.)
- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations
- Processing and payment of employee expenses
- Help improve and streamline accounts payable processes
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in accounts payable or general accounting (2+ years preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with accounting software a benefit (e.g., Explorer Eclipse, Sage, or industry-specific tools)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience in the logging, timber, or manufacturing industry a bonus
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office with strong skills in Excel
