We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic Full Time Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper to join our team. We offer competitive wages and extended health, dental, and vision coverage.
Over view:
The Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper supports the operations of the accounting department by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy in financial documentation. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with numbers and accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide clerical and accounting support to the finance team
· Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
· Post financial transactions using accounting software
· Reconcile bank statements and general ledger entries
· Prepare bank deposits, disbursements, and expense vouchers
· Assist with accounts payable and receivable
· Generate financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets
· Maintain a financial filing system and ensure document accuracy
· Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records
· Assist with tax filings and year-end reporting (e.g., 1099s)
· Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Maintain and update general ledger, customer ledger, and supplier ledger
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare invoices, receipts, and payments
- Assist with payroll processing and tracking payroll data
- Generate financial reports such as trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets
- File tax documents and assist with tax returns and compliance
- Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
- Collaborate with accountants for audits and year-end reporting
Requirements and Skills
· Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping
· Familiarity with basic accounting procedures and principles
· Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., SAGE)
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting preferred
Salary:
· Negotiable and based on experience possessed
