The Ministry of Social Services, Financial Services Branch, requires a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual to serve as an Accounting Clerk in the Financial Operations Unit. This is a busy, high-energy unit where efficiency and accuracy are required to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities Include:
- Processing journal entries, payment requests, and other accounting-related processes;
- Investigating discrepancies and providing direction on financial inquiries;
- Supporting and adhering to established financial controls and procedures; and
- Preparation of invoices, reimbursements, and adjustments.
This position will provide a diverse portfolio of experience for someone who is a team player, looking to grow their accountancy skills and appreciates a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and software programs such as SWIN, Linkin, MIDAS, Business Central, MiCase, Outlook, and Excel. Typically, the knowledge, competencies and experience required for the position would be obtained through completion of an accounting/administration diploma with related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
