Le Centre Paul-André Crépeau de droit privé et comparé est à la recherche d’un·e candidat·e pour occuper le poste de Associée ou Associé aux Activités Professorales / directeur·rice adjoint·e responsable du projet des dictionnaires de droit privé et lexiques bilingues pendant le congé de maternité de la titulaire du poste. Il s’agit d’un poste avec des responsabilités de gestion exercées en concertation avec la direction du Centre. Il s’agit d’un poste à temps plein, mais un horaire réduit peut être aménagé.
Les responsabilités comprennent, sans s’y limiter :
Activités de recherche
  • Recherche en droit privé et comparé.
  • Formation et supervision des travaux des assistant.es de recherche et des chercheur.es professionnel.les.
  • Rédaction et révision des entrées de dictionnaire à l’issue des recherches.
  • Gestion du projet de dictionnaire (suivi de l’avancement du projet, archivage des travaux, mise à jour des documents de suivi type réseau, index, liste de termes, procès-verbaux…).
  • Suivi du projet de mise à jour de l’application du dictionnaire en ligne. Supervision de la mise en ligne des définitions sur le dictionnaire en ligne du Centre.
  • Réunions avec le comité de dictionnaire: planification et présentation des travaux, animation de la rencontre, compte rendu de la réunion et planification des travaux qui en résultent.
Autres :
  • Soutien ponctuel à l’organisation d’évènements académiques du Centre.
  • Préparation de certaines demandes de subvention, des rapports intérimaires et finaux de certaines subventions obtenues en lien avec le projet de dictionnaire.
  • Tâches administratives diverses (excluant la compatibilité) : recrutement des assistant.es de recherche et chercheur.e.s professionnel.les, suivi du temps de travail des chercheur.es, communications internes et externes au Centre, rencontres hebdomadaires avec le Comité de direction.
The Paul-André Crépeau Centre for Private and Comparative Law is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Academic Associate/Assistant Director responsible for the private law dictionaries and bilingual glossaries project during the incumbent's maternity leave. This is a position with management responsibilities exercised in consultation with the Centre's management. It is a full-time position, but a reduced schedule may be arranged.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Research activities
  • Research in private and comparative law.
  • Training and supervising the work of research assistants and professional researchers.
  • Drafting and revising dictionary entries based on research findings.
  • Dictionary project management (monitoring project progress, archiving work, updating network-type tracking documents, indexes, term lists, minutes, etc.).
  • Monitoring the project to update the online dictionary application. Supervising the publication of definitions on the Center's online dictionary.
  • Meetings with the dictionary committee: planning and presenting work, facilitating meetings, taking minutes, and planning the resulting work.
Other:
  • Occasional support for the organization of academic events at the Center.
  • Preparation of certain grant applications, interim and final reports for certain grants obtained in connection with the dictionary project.
  • Various administrative tasks (excluding accounting): recruitment of research assistants and professional researchers, monitoring of researchers' working hours, internal and external communications at the Center, weekly meetings with the Management Committee.
Qualifications requises/Qualifications Required:
  • Maîtrise en droit;
  • Excellente maîtrise du français et de l’anglais;
  • Intérêt pour la recherche juridique;
  • Membre de la Chambre des notaires du Québec (un atout);
  • Master’s degree in law;
  • Strong command of French and English;
  • Interest in legal research;
  • Member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec (an asset).
