Terraform Earthworks is a site maintenance contractor seeking to hire a working foreman in Oshawa.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Job Title: Working Foreman – Site maintenance
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Site Superintendent / Project Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Working Foreman to lead site maintenance for rail and subway projects in Oshawa. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Crew Leadership & Supervision:
- Direct and supervise a team of laborers, operators, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and safe worksite operations.
- Lead by example by actively participating in activities with safety oriented mindset and maintaining the strictest safety standards on site.
- Coordinate daily work schedules and assign tasks to team members to meet project deadlines.
- Interpret drawings, site plans, and cut/fill diagrams.
- complete minor excavation and grading as required by site superintendent
- Equipment Knowledge & Operation:
- It is a critical requirement that the operating foreman possess the ability to effectively operate skid loaders and small excavators on site.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and inspected daily.
- Site Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades.
- Coordinate delivery of materials and ensure tools and equipment are available and in working order.
- Quality Control & Documentation:
- Ensure work is completed to specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain daily records of labor, equipment usage, material deliveries, and progress reports.
- Identify and report any changes or issues to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in site maintenance, including 2+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
- Strong ability to, site plans, and construction drawings.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is a strong asset.
- Valid G license (DZ or AZ is an asset).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions.
- Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety regulations, and Book 7
