AQUATECH is a privately owned Canadian corporation established in 2004, specialising in management, operation, and maintenance services for both water and wastewater facilities. AQUATECH is the largest private operator of water and wastewater treatment plants in Canada.

We are presently seeking a Certified Wastewater Operator to join our team in the Rocky Mountain House area. AQUATECH is looking for an individual who is seeking a career with our rapidly expanding company, and is eager to learn.

Operator Main Responsibilities

Working under the guidance of the supervisor, you’re responsible for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the Water & Wastewater facilities. This position will report to the area Operations Manager.

· The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

o Carry out the daily operation (regulatory monitoring and reporting process adjustments, chemical transferring and maintenance) of the facilities

o Provide operational support & troubleshooting to other operators

o Assist with inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, & consumables.

o Assist with the creation of maintenance requests and assist in the development of work scope quotation with our Technical Services Group for scopes of work within the plant facility.

o Work closely with Plant Supervisor and Operations Manager on plant operations, creatin of standard operations procedures, safety, emergency response plants, as a few examples.

o Monitor Lift Stations as required.

o Monitor Storm ponds as required.

o Complete and compile data of daily inspections, monitoring, and sampling as required

o Perform maintenance tasks as requested by the supervisor

o Perform laboratory analysis and reporting

o Assist with the preparation weekly, monthly, annual reports as required

o Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely)

o Participate, enforce, and comply with all aspects of the company’s health and safety program

o Assist with housekeeping and grounds keeping around facility.

Hours of Work

The Operator position will be 10 days on 4 days off work schedule for 8 hours per day. Work week would be subject to change depending on time off, vacation or sickness coverage of other operations personnel. Regular hours of operation are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm but are subject to change. The position is also subject to On-Call duties on a scheduled rotation.

Required Qualifications

· Current Level II Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification (proof of certification is required)

· Ability to lift 25 kg (55lb)

· Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge

· Ability to work under pressure quickly and efficiently

· Excellent problem solving skills

· Microsoft Office program experience

· Strong independent worker and team player

· Good communication skills, both written and verbal

· Positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

· Training certificates in H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, and TDG.

· AWWOA wastewater treatment courses.

Compensation

AQUATECH has competitive wages, a comprehensive benefits package, plus many other intangible incentives that are offered to our full-time employees. A moving allowance would be considered for relocation to Rocky Mountain House, as required.
