Position Summary
Responsible for the safe handling of all raw materials associated with Sofina Foods. To maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment. Responsible for updating and maintaining manual and computerized reports associated with shipping/receiving.

Major Duties

• Verifies quantities of all materials shipped and received;
• Documents any discrepancies and notifies appropriate departments regarding shortages;
• Responsible for data entry and maintaining reports on Excel, QMG/AS400;
• Provides physical counts of inventory as required;
• Monitor incoming materials and outgoing products as per HACCP and Food Safety and Quality Manual to ensure product safety and quality during receiving, storage and shipping;
• Check and stage the necessary materials based on product specifications and age of the product.

Skills & Abilities

• Must possess and maintain a valid Lift truck license;
• Ability to organize, plan and report;
• Must be a Team player, able to work well in a team environment;
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written);
• Necessary math skills for reporting;
• Experience computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel);
• Knowledge of QMG/AS400 an asset.

Working Conditions

• This position requires physical effort 30% to 40% of the time and entails lifting and moving heavy equipment;
• The work environment is wet, damp and refrigerated (50 degrees F or less). Warm clothing is required;
• The noise level may exceed 90 decibels. Hearing protection is mandatory;
• The use of safety boots is mandatory. The wearing of prescribed PPE is mandatory, i.e., clothing, hair net and beard net, hearing protection, etc.
