Mission of the Role (What you will be doing)
This is a replacement search for a Warehouse Associate (WA) reporting to the location Supply Chain Manager with direct responsibilities focused on but not limited to, overall warehouse functions including receiving, picking, packing, loading, and unloading. The WA will be responsible for the safe and effective use of forklift equipment to complete various day-to-day tasks with some lifting and packing. This is a teamwork-oriented role that will require strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively communicate with warehouse supervisors and coworkers, and an ability to problem solve while working to process and complete daily orders. Prior hands-on warehouse or forklift experience is required, an understanding of distribution and operations practices are an asset.
Key Duties & Accountabilities (Primary responsibilities & quantifiable measurements)
- Receive, pick, pack, load, and unload products by hand or using equipment
- Use WMS and RF Scanner to complete orders
- Assist the team with overall maintenance and cleanliness
- Work with supervisors to ensure shipments are processed and completed on time
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and labels
- Perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions (Essential/secondary functions that support the primary responsibilities)
- Operate a forklift in a safe manner at all times, especially during lifting, backing or when traveling around corners.
- Use a forklift to load, unload trucks, and move material around the plant in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
- Complete daily inspection of equipment.
- Verify load accuracy; check the load count, stability, and product damage, report variances as necessary.
- Perform picking/packing duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
Qualifications
Educational/Training Requirements/Experience (What your background should look like)
- Knowledge/Experience working in a large distribution facility
- Understanding of the Warehouse environment
- 1-2 years of prior shipping/receiving experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous forklift experience considered an asset
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
- Strong sense of urgency; flexibility in meeting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Good verbal communication skills
- Strong grasp on analytical and math skills
- Proficiency in safely operating and maintaining forklift equipment
- Team-player; Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit/walk/stand comfortably for long hours.
- Ability to intermittently squat, twist, bend, turn, push, or pull.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to function within a warehouse environment and complete tasks related to cleanliness, organization, and other tasks as required

The final hourly pay rate offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors such as work location, job-related skills, qualifications, experience, responsibilities, and relevant education and training.
