KEY OBJECTIVE:
As a key member of the Global Casualty underwriting division, you have the role of establishing and maintaining relationships with assigned brokers and managing and growing a profitable book of primary general liability and automobile business for large, complex Canadian multinational clients requiring customized total cost of risk solutions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Underwrite primary general liability, automobile and/or international casualty programs for Canadian multinational companies.
- Ability to underwrite guaranteed cost and large retention structures (high deductibles, self-insured retentions, collateralized programs).
- Responsible for the profitably, growth, and retention of an assigned renewal book
- Accurately select risk for new and renewal business by considering adequate pricing, net limit capacity, coverage negotiation, and understanding policy language.
- Collaborate and coordinate with underwriting support functions including: Risk Engineering, Credit Management, Actuarial, Claims, General Counsel, and Operations.
- Develop superior relationships with key brokers and insureds by participating and contributing to reoccurring business meetings and annual stewardships.
- Identify, analyze, and develop new business targets through participating in monthly Major Accounts meetings, cross selling, and assigned targets.
- Exhibit technical underwriting expertise and marketing savvy.
