Tree Farm Helper & Operator
Our family owned company Recycling Worx Inc. and sister company Alta West Tree Movers have been operating in the Calgary and surrounding area for over 20 years. We are looking for 1 dedicated applicant to join our great team!
Seasonal (10 month) with the potential for full time yearly work. We are looking for someone who wants to learn about the tree moving business and is able to work long hours during the "season"
Duties
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the products and services
- Move trees, plant trees. Work at tree farm when not doing outside jobs.
- Learn to use or have experience with machinery such as spade trucks, augers, skid steers, bobcat loaders etc. Must be comfortable driving truck and trailer to job sites.
- Perform manual tasks related to tree planting, including but not limited to:
- - lifting- digging holes- shoveling/tamping soil- Watering and fertilizing, - basketing trees
Requirements:
- Minimum Class 5 license
- Physical strength and endurance. Must be able to walk, stand, crouch, bend, push/pull, dig and lift up to 50lbs repeatedly during the course of a shift.
- Willingness to work in a variety of conditions, including heat and humidity, rain, snow, dust, and noise.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during peak season.
- - Must be punctual, focused and responsible. Please note that cell phone use is not permitted during working hours.
- Must be self-motivated, reliable, and demonstrate a positive, courteous attitude toward fellow crew members, staff and customers.
- Must adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Tree Spade experience is considered a strong asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$27.00 per hour
