Canadian Training Institute is certified training institution located in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland. We offer training programs in Heavy Equipment Operator, Commercial Driver, and Tandem Truck operation.
We are looking for an energetic driver to join our team as a tractor trailer/tandem truck trainer with competitive wages.
This position is available for either full time or part time hours.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare students to enter the commercial driver field by providing them with on the road/in the yard training on the safe operation of tractor trailers (class 1) and/or tandem trucks (class 3).
- Training includes pre- and post- trip inspections; backing and coupling procedures; defensive driving techniques; gear recovery procedures; double clutching; hours of service requirements (logbooks).
- All training is done on standard transmission trucks
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to: curriculum training, safe operation, and other standards as required
- Operate equipment for demonstration of tasks to students
- Conduct student evaluations and other light paperwork including but not limited to: payroll time sheets, logbooks, and maintenance reports.
Minimum Requirement:
- Five years verifiable work experience operating tractor trailers
- Valid class 1, 3, and 9 licence
- Clean driver's abstract
- Ability to operate standard transmissions
- Must be able to double clutch
