OK Tire is looking for experienced Tire and Lube Service Technician to join our team on a seasonal full time or seasonal part-time basis.
Our Tire and Lube Service Technicians are responsible for performing tire repair, tire replacement and tire changeover services for our customers. You will also be responsible for assisting with and performing oil changes and other minor automotive repair services along with tire and vehicle inspection services.
Your responsibilities and work assignment will include the following:
Tire an Oil change Services
- Perform tire repair, tire replacement and tire changeover services.
- Perform oil changes and assist with other minor automotive services under the direction and supervision of certified Automotive Technicians.
- Ensure all tire and service work is performed following company procedures with quality workmanship.
- Assist other Technicians in the performance of their work.
- Assist with the moving, storage and disposal of new and used tires and the management of seasonal tire storage.
- Move customer vehicles in and out of the shop area, test drive vehicles after service.
- Follow Company procedures regarding the management of supplies, parts and tires.
Vehicle Inspections
- Perform vehicle inspections during tire and oil change services.
- Utilize vehicle inspection software to record inspections and track time.
- Test drive vehicles and retorque lug nuts after test driving to ensure customer safety.
Cleaning & Preventative Maintenance
- Overall responsibility for regular cleaning of the shop area and shop floor.
- Assist with equipment inspections and preventative maintenance work.
- General machine cleanup and cleanup of shop work spaces including tire storage areas.
- Ensure shop cleanliness expectations are met including waste removal and recycling.
- Ensure the wash bay is maintained in an organized and usable condition.
- Cleanliness and organization of personal workspaces and toolboxes.
- Assist with other maintenance and cleanup initiatives as needed.
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the parking lot and landscaped areas including snow removal and lawn care.
Safety & Environment
- Adhere to and promote safe work practices and a culture of safety at the Company.
- Assist with the maintenance of machines and equipment to ensure they are in good working and operating safely.
- Follow spill clean up procedures relating to any spill of oil, coolants and other liquid products used in the shop area.
- Follow the company policies and procedures for the recycling of paper, plastic, metal, used oil and other recyclable wastes.
- Participate in Company Safety & Tool Box meetings to stay current and to provide input, guidance and direction to the Company safety program.
Knowledge, Skill & Technical Requirements
This position requires a person who is a self starter, is physically fit, honest, and responds to supervision and direction from other technicians and managers. This position requires an individual who is well organized, has good problem solving and decision-making skills, is hard working, quality oriented and has a can-do attitude.
Individuals must possess good verbal and written communication skills, can work with computers and can communicate effectively with other employees and customers. Previous experience performing tire services, automotive repair or other mechanical service work is desired but not required.
Enrollment as an apprentice, or attendance at a recognized technical school and working towards an Automotive Service Technician designation or other automotive technical certification is an asset. Individuals in this position are expected to be continuous learners and are expected to adjust and adapt to changes and customer issues that arise throughout a typical workday.
Hours & Working Conditions
Hours for this position are primarily Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Saturday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, and Sunday between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm in a shop environment. However, hours will be dictated by the specific project and initiatives being worked on at any given time and the seasonal tire changeover rush.
Typical Shifts
Daytime Weekdays - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Daytime Evenings - 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Saturdays - 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Sundays - 9:00 am to 3:30 pm

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
