Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Temporary BBQ Worker to join our team at the Comox Valley Ribfest in Cumberland. As a Temporary BBQ Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving delicious BBQ dishes while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to food safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, for processing customer orders efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and serving areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in upselling menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods.
- Follow time management practices to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
- Experience with cashiering and basic math skills for accurate cash handling is required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests.
- Restaurant experience is a plus, particularly in the food industry or similar environments.
