Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive System Administrator to join our IT team, who will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting any issues across our data center and network infrastructure. The individual should be able to ensure optimal system performance, data integrity, and security, with a strong focus on proactive monitoring and incident response.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first level support for server infrastructure (Azure, Head Office and Stores)
- Handling the MySQL InnoDB architecture and performing the DB admin duties
- Monitor and audit server for performance, security, and availability; and take remedial actions as necessary to ensure ongoing system success
- Troubleshoot and repair server/network issues in both virtual and physical servers
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of server software and hardware
- Protect data integrity and system security, including data back-up and record storage, system documentation, and a detailed disaster recovery plan
- Execute daily backup for all the servers handled
- Managing multiple networks and security infrastructure of the business environment
- Configure network monitoring, threat identification and management
- Monitoring network performance such as availability, utilization, and test for weaknesses
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
- CompTIA A+ is a must
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as System Administrator is required
- Strong experience with Azure and Kubernetes (AKS) is required
- Hands-on experience with physical routers, switches and VLANs configuration
- In depth knowledge of Linux system (e.g. CentOS, Ubuntu)
- Solid experience with Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL and/or MariaDB, including installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python
- Strong knowledge in Mail Exchange servers
- Familiar with VMWare and Hypervisor virtualization environments
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocols such as DNS, HTTPS, LDAPS, SMTP, and firewall configurations
- Ability to generate and renew certificates on web servers and other network equipment
- Experience with Git installation and repository management
- Experiences with Moodle (installation, maintenance, and upgrades) is a plus
- Willingness to work off-hours as required for system upgrades and patching
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Immediate available is an advantage
