Position Overview
As a Store Lead at Kindling Cannabis, you will be responsible for the overall performance of your store, including operations, compliance, staff management, and customer experience. This hands-on leadership role requires a proactive and organized individual who can lead by example, drive sales, and maintain regulatory compliance while fostering a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a high-performing in-store team
- Promote a positive and inclusive culture that aligns with Kindling’s values
- Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance reviews to support staff development
- Ensure staff are well-informed on products, regulations, and company updates
Customer Experience
- Lead by example to deliver exceptional customer service
- Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space
- Support community engagement initiatives
Operations & Compliance
- Oversee all daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and scheduling
- Ensure full compliance with AGCO and Health Canada regulations
- Submit accurate daily and weekly reports on sales, labour, and inventory
- Implement and uphold loss prevention and safety protocols
- Ensuring all deliveries are fast and efficient meeting our 1-hour free delivery policy
Sales & Inventory Management
- Meet or exceed sales goals, KPIs, and operational benchmarks
- Manage product receiving, inventory counts, transfers, and stock rotation
- Ensure proper tagging, pricing, and merchandising of all products
- Collaborate with head office on product launches, promotions, and updates
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of retail management experience (cannabis or regulated retail preferred)
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and results-driven
- Solid understanding of Ontario cannabis laws and AGCO regulations
- CannSell certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
- Able to lift and maneuver up to 30lbs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
