As a member of our program/project team, you will perform all aspects of planning and scheduling activities. You will be interacting with internal design team members, external consultants, construction contractors and/or supply vendors to understand and communicate issues/conflicts that impact the schedule. You will also conduct and co-ordinate reviews of consultants, contractors, and vendor schedules, to ensure plans are realistic and achievable.
As an intermediate Planner/Scheduler, your main tasks will include:
- Develop, maintain, and manage complex engineering and construction project schedules involving multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
- Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Baseline Schedules to support project planning and execution.
- Review baseline schedules, monthly updates, and earned value reports submitted by designers and contractors for accuracy and alignment.
- Convert schedules between various scheduling software platforms to ensure compatibility and continuity.
- Integrate multiple schedules from different sources into a cohesive master schedule.
- Conduct “what-if” schedule analyses and present findings to project teams to support decision-making.
- Monitor construction contractor schedules and track progress against planned completion dates and contractual milestones.
- Apply industry best practices for schedule development, integration, and control.
- Analyze project schedules to identify critical paths, assess risks, and recommend recovery strategies.
- Identify and monitor critical activities, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination with project teams.
- Perform Earned Value Analysis (EVA), calculate key performance indicators (KPIs), and evaluate current and projected performance.
- Collaborate with cost control teams to align reporting structures and support Earned Value Management (EVM) capabilities.
- Support contingency planning and risk-adjusted forecasting to enhance schedule reliability.
- Conduct delay analyses and prepare detailed delay reports for project stakeholders.
- Load schedules with cost and resource data to support forecasting and performance tracking.
- Write clear, concise schedule narratives and progress reports for internal and external audiences.
- Generate project documentation including monthly reports, short-term look-ahead schedules, and critical item lists.
- Develop and deliver schedule and cost analysis presentations using visual, written, and verbal formats.
We invite applications from candidates with:
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in planning/scheduling of major projects in the transportation / infrastructure sector, with increasing responsibility
- Experience working on large construction projects preferred
- Experience with various procurement models
- Strong leadership and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to liaise with client, contractor, and team
- Confident and able to develop and present
- Advanced level skills with Primavera P6 scheduling software
- Ability to work with Oracle Primavera cloud (OPC) is a plus
- Proficient with MS Project and Visio
- Experience with TILOS linear scheduling software is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field
- Relevant certification with either AACE International or the Project Management Institute or equivalent is a plus

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $115,000 - $133,000
Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidate's actual salary within the expected range.
