Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and be experienced in working with diverse populations, including children and families. This role involves providing therapeutic support, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans to enhance the well-being of clients. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with other practitioners to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments to evaluate needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for clients in distress.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper coding (ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Engage in case management activities, coordinating care among various service providers.
- Conduct clinical research and data collection to inform best practices in patient care.
- Offer support for families dealing with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on behavioral health topics.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems for effective patient record management.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW or equivalent).
- Experience with child & family counseling, home & community care, or geriatrics is preferred.
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies and data collection processes.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and its implications for patient care.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing crisis situations or mental health disorders.
- Knowledge of special education systems and resources available for children with disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to document medical records accurately.
- Proficiency in crisis management techniques and experience working within hospital settings is advantageous. Pay: $21.00-$38.24 per hour
