Our Housing & Community Development Department is looking for a dedicated Social Policy Manager to join the team.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the development, coordination, and evaluation of internal social policies that strengthen community well-being and equity.
- Overseeing departmental data system (HIFIS).
- Supervising key staff.
- Translating research into actionable insights, and ensuring alignment with municipal, provincial, and federal priorities.
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives.
- Prepare Council-ready reports.
- Act as departmental lead in the Director’s absence.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social sciences, Community Development, Human Services, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in social policy or community development
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Skilled in equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and facilitation abilities.
- Analytical thinker, adept at interpreting research and evaluation data, and translating it into clear, actionable recommendations.
Hours
The standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.
Compensation
Salary range $50.31 - $65.03 per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
