Job Description:
As an Assembler, you will perform a wide variety of different assembly tasks as part of putting a sign together. You will possess great manual dexterity and pride yourself in your attention to detail. Your ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings and schematics, and follow them with precision is extremely important. Skills in assembling both metal and plastic components as well as electrical components such as power supplies and LEDs are assets.
Required skills:
- Technical knowledge and ability to read and understand specifications and technical drawings
- Ability to accurately measure materials using the imperial system
- Proficiency with various hand/power tools and machinery (drills, saws, etc.)
- Experience and confidence with light electrical wiring would be a strong asset
- Dexterity and precise manipulation of small objects
- A focus on fine details, quality, good judgement and critical decision making
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions (both verbal and written), and work independently with minimal supervision
Duties include:
- Drilling holes and assembling components using correct/appropriate fittings and fasteners
- Verification of specifications by measuring completed products
- Applying subcomponents such as LEDs or diffusers to other raw materials
- Cutting and bending raw materials
- Periodically lifting/moving/loading of raw materials and finished goods
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures in place
- Documenting actions by completing production and quality records
- Checking final product to ensure the highest quality
Required Experience:
- Previous experience that demonstrates an ability to follow instructions and attention to detail
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Mechanical assembly: 1 year (preferred)
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
