We have added a Coatings Departement to our Strathroy, ON plant and are looking for an eager and energetic Shot Blaster/General Labourer who will report to our Plant Supervisor and be a part of this transformation.
Job Description:
Prepare metal surfaces by removing imperfections, mill scale and rust by means of shot blasting. Prep all surfaces to meet Quality Standards in order to proceed to next stage or process for coating.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sand/shot blast (w/Angular Steel Grit) the surfaces of our mild carbon steel manufactured to meet desired Customer and Quality Standards.
- Scuff / rough surface of steel in order to promote a good base for paint to adhere.
- Plug / Mask Off all thread holes and machine surfaces that do not require paint.
- Vacuum or use compressed air to ensure sand and grit particles are removed from metal surface before painting procedure begins.
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Rules and Regulations and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain a constant awareness of grit and inventory supply.
- Inform Plant Manager or Production Coordinator on the status of inventory so it may be replenished.
- Meet daily production demands.
- Maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Daily cleaning of all tools is required.
- Light-duty general labour work in other departments if there is a period of downtime in the Coatings Department with nothing to be blasted.
Your Skill Set:
- 1-3 years previous work related experience in blasting
- Detailed oriented as quality standards must be met.
- Overhead crane and forklift experience, we can cerfify
- Automotive or industry related painting and bodywork experience.

Schedule:
- Day shift (Mon-Thur 6:00 am - 3:30 pm & Fri 6:00 am -10:00 am)
Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Strathroy, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- manufacturing: 2 years (preferred)
- blasting/painting: 3 years (preferred)

The candidate may be required to work in other positions as production demands justify it. When production requirements warrant it, overtime will be made available on a volunteer basis.
Salary Range: $20.60 - $22.15 per hour depending on experience.
