Pokey Okey is seeking an experienced shift leader to join our Kingsway team.
This is a permanent, full-time position; 32-40 hours/week. The position pays $19-$21/hour + tips, a free meal each shift.
Duties:
- Supervising and assisting with scheduling other kitchen staff;
- Providing on-the-job training for new kitchen staff as well as senior staff being promoted;
- Resolving customer complaints and inquiries;
- Placing and receiving daily supplier orders;
- Maintaining records of food wastage;
- Ensuring that food and service meet sanitation, health, and quality control standards;
- Opening and closing the restaurant, as needed;
- Preparing food for dine-in, takeout, and online customers;
- Preparing the ingredients that go into the food
- Operate kitchen equipment, including deep fryer, rice cooker, and stoves
Requirements:
- Full time availability;
- English language ability;
- Prior experience in supervising is an asset;
- Prior experience as a sushi chef, barista, bartender, or poke server is an asset.
