How will you make an impact in this role?
As part of the GMNS Regulatory and Business Enablement team, the Senior Manager, Business Controls & Governance will play a pivotal role in strengthening our risk culture, elevating business controls, and reducing operational risk across the Canadian market. This role will support the execution of control requirements across audits, regulatory exams, and remediation plans, while acting as a consultative resource for GMNS and process owners.
Audit Coordination & Support
- Lead coordination of internal and external audits (1st, 2nd, and 3rd line), including regulatory requests and enterprise testing plans.
- Act as a liaison between GMNS Canada and audit teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of documentation and responses.
- Track and manage audit deliverables, findings, and remediation plans across GMNS business units.
- Lead & partner with multiple stakeholders to deliver the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC) & KYC Refresh project requirements for the GMNS Canada business.
Control Management & Risk Mitigation
- Support the development and execution of control frameworks aligned with enterprise standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance to channel owners during audits and testing cycles, ensuring alignment with compliance expectations
- Maintain and update control inventories, including third-party relationships and application linkages.
Strategic Enablement & Consultation
- Serve as a control centre of excellence, offering consultative support to GMNS colleagues on control-related programs and initiatives.
- Collaborate with Compliance, GCO, Control Management, Finance, Technology Officers, and Business Sponsors to validate business function mappings and risk assessments.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and guidance documents, including the Global Regulatory Assignment Form (GRAF) and BCM packages.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in audit, compliance, or risk management, preferably within financial services.
- Deep understanding of Canadian regulatory frameworks (e.g., AML/KYC, OSFI, Canada Labour Code Part II) an asset.
- Proven ability to manage complex audits and regulatory exams in a matrixed environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level reporting.
- Experience with enterprise control systems (e.g., AEMP 10, Archer, Navigator) is an asset.
- Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not required.
