Terms: Permanent, Part-Time (80% FTE)
Mulgrave, the International School of Vancouver, is seeking a curious, detail-oriented, and collaborative Science Lab Technician to bring science learning to life for students in our Middle and Senior Schools.
Working in our state-of-the-art science department, which includes six fully equipped labs and a dedicated prep room, you will play a hands-on role in preparing and supporting experiments, maintaining resources, and ensuring our labs run smoothly and safely. From setting up chemistry demonstrations to supporting student-led investigations, you’ll be at the heart of an innovative and dynamic learning environment.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in Biology and Chemistry, a passion for science education, and the organisational flair to keep our busy labs safe, inspiring, and well-resourced. You’ll work alongside another Lab Technician and a talented team of teachers who are dedicated to sparking curiosity and deep scientific understanding in our students.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare materials and resources for experiments and practical lessons
- Support teachers and students during labs and demonstrations
- Guide and assist students with independent investigations and extended essays
- Maintain lab spaces, equipment, and chemical storage to the highest standards of safety and organisation
- Manage inventory, supplies, and waste disposal
- Provide training and reminders on lab safety protocols
- Stay current with new equipment and innovations to keep our labs cutting-edge
What You Bring
- Canadian residency and legal entitlement to work in Canada
- A high school diploma (post-secondary training in Biology or Chemistry strongly preferred)
- Experience working in a laboratory setting, ideally within a school environment
- Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safety, precision, and creating a supportive learning environment for students
- Ability to inspire students’ enthusiasm for science

Compensation
The base annual salary for this position is competitive and falls within the range of $55,000.00 - $60,000.00, which will be prorated based on the FTE. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, and relevant experience in accordance with BC labour laws and company policies.
