POSITION: School Secretary
LOCATION: Wagalus Elementary School
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Office Administration Certificate, or equivalent, Grade 12 Dogwood Diploma, Valid C. class 5 driver’s license, Level 1 First Aid/CPR Certificate, clear criminal record check.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, ability to type accurately 50 WPM, knowledge of office management systems and procedures, ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff matters, excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work, excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of the Kwak’wala language and culture is an asset
- Personal qualities: an innovative, creative team player who is resourceful and able to problem solve and work independently. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, good communication skills, and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with families, and other departments.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
M-F: 8:00 am-4:00 pm
Duties: The School Secretary, under the general supervision and direction of the Principal, provides a variety of office administrative, human resources, public and community relations duties. The School Secretary provides information and assistance to students, staff, parents, community members, agencies, and the general public.
