Description:
The Sales Assistant A position, involves performing many tasks, such as:
- Customer Service (which includes, but is not limited to):
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner
- Ensuring customer and staff safety
- Ensuring customers leave with a lasting positive impression
- Assisting in the many facets of order fulfillment process which include, but are not limited to:
- Finding and gathering all items on the web orders assigned to you
- Verifying that all items picked are correct
- Preparing & packing, in a timely manner, all orders that need to be shipped or picked up
- Handing out web orders and modifying the status of web orders
- Shelving books, folding/hanging clothes, restocking and merchandising
- Pricing products, ensuring that all product codes are correct, lifting 30lbs boxes and bins
- Processing sales transactions, looking up products in the database
- Other duties assigned
- Shifts assigned are expected to range between 5 and 8 hours
Requirements:
- Must be a McGill student
- Must be available for 2 days of training
- Must be a self-starter, punctual, organized, efficient and detail oriented
- Must be fluent in English; the ability to speak French is an asset
- Must be able to lift boxes of up to 30lbs
- Must wear pants and sturdy, closed-toed shoes
- Prior experience as a cashier, in customer service, and in shipping is an asset
- Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English.
