Casual position
Westwind Counselling is seeking support staff to join our team at our location in Kelowna BC. Westwind is a private counselling service provider, offering treatment in the form of psychotherapy and nutritional counselling to individuals suffering from problems related to disordered eating behaviours. We offer treatment to individuals through Westwind Eating Disorder Recovery Centre and Westwind Online Treatment Programs.
Qualifications Include:
Mature and reliable;
The successful candidate will be currently or recently enrolled in the Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or Nursing program, Social Work or will have completed the Applied Counselling Certificate;
Experience in a related field is considered an asset;
Preference will be given to candidates who have an understanding of eating disorders and work from a HAES informed model;
Demonstration of excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills;
Proven ability to act both independently and as an active member of a professional team;
Display strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
Demonstrate commitment to self-development through continuing education;
Have theoretical knowledge and skills applications for working with people from diverse backgrounds;
Valid driver’s license required.
Responsibilities:
Offering clients emotional support and company;
Specific household duties.
Additional Requirements:
*A Criminal Record Check by the Criminal Records Review Program by the Government of BC, as specified under the Criminal Record Review Act;
*Character references that assure the employee is a person of good character and has the personality, ability and temperament necessary to work with and provide services to the residents;
*A record of the person’s work history and experience;
*Copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of training and skills;
*and evidence of person’s immunizations and tuberculosis test status.
*Holds a current valid first aid and CPR certificate.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
