Job description
We currently have a full-time position available for an apprentice Reefer Technician at our Salisbury location.
We’re looking for a Transport Refrigeration Service Technician responsible for the repair and maintenance of our ever growing Rental fleet of commercial trailers. This job requires physical strength, including heavy lifting, frequent bending, and working in tight spaces.
Responsibilities and requirements:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems and accessories on commercial trailers
- Repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration components, including Freon recharge, leak detection, and part replacement (may involve soldering, welding, and repairing leaks)
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections to ensure units operate within required parameters for proper cargo temperature control
- Estimate parts and labor costs, review work orders, and consult with the Service Advisor as needed
- Accurately document service calls, maintenance activities, and repairs performed
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with clients on-site
- Willingness to participate in new product Technology
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Service Technician in transport refrigeration or HVAC trade
- Ozone Depletion Certification (ODC)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Possess own tools
- Proficient in computer diagnostics and repair
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to staying current with industry trends and technological advancements
- Adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements
Schedule:
- 9-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- After Hours Availability on call
