POSITION SUMMARY
The Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the recruitment cycle, from job postings to onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience and supporting our mission to build a diverse and inclusive workforce under the direction of the Director of Human Resources.

Hourly rate: $30.99-$32.88

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Recruitment Specialist will:
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for staff, interns, and co-op placements
- Draft and post job descriptions on internal and external job boards
- Screen resumes and coordinate interviews with the Program Manager
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure a positive experience
- Assist with onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, orientation and reference checks.
- Maintain and update the Human Resources Information System and recruitment files
- Provide Turnover reports and conduct Exit Interviews
- Partner with community organizations, colleges, and job fairs to build talent pipelines
- Support initiatives to attract diverse candidates and promote inclusive hiring practices
- Prepare recruitment reports and analytics for leadership
- Ensure all hiring practices comply with organizational policies and employment legislation
- Provide general HR support as needed
- Support management with the implementation and monitoring of health and safety practices and policies.
- Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) by attending meetings, participating in activities, tracking minutes, and ensuring the organization is compliant with legislation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in recruitment, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Familiarity with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and human resources information system (HRIS). Familiarity with BambooHR is an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.
- High level of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and decision making.
- Strong teamwork approach.
- Fluency in English is required. Fluency in other languages is an asset.
