About Progressive Industrial Fluids Ltd.

Progressive Industrial Fluids Ltd. (“PIFL”), Ontario's premier manufacturer of industrial lubricants, coolants, drawing fluids, and specialty cleaners, stands at the forefront of innovation in the industrial sector. With a rich history of excellence and a future focused on cutting-edge solutions, we continue to expand and push the boundaries of what’s possible. To support our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Reconditioner to join our growing team.

Role Overview:

The Reconditioner plays a vital role in PIFL’s operations by supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient reconditioning of intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), also known as totes. Reporting directly to the Reconditioning Manager, this role involves executing key cleaning, inspection, and documentation processes that ensure the integrity and quality of totes re-entering circulation. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, hands-on, and passionate about process consistency and environmental responsibility.

Your First 90 Days:

First 30 Days: Orientation and Integration

Complete onboarding and safety training, including WHMIS, SDS handling, and chemical awareness. Learn PIFL’s reconditioning standards and procedures by shadowing experienced team members. Understand tote identification systems, product classification methods, and the step-by-step reconditioning workflow. Begin handling basic tasks including label removal, initial rinsing, and documenting tote intake.

Next 30 Days: Strategy and Engagement

Operate cleaning equipment such as wash bays, pressure systems, and inspection tools with supervision. Begin performing internal and external inspections on totes, reporting non-conforming materials or issues. Manage SDS cross-checking and assist with reclassification of contents based on chemical type. Demonstrate safe handling and movement of totes, including use of forklifts (training provided if necessary).

Following 30 Days: Independence and Growth

Independently manage full tote reconditioning cycles in alignment with established SOPs. Identify opportunities for improving cleaning effectiveness and reducing environmental impact. Complete detailed records of each tote processed, contributing to quality assurance and traceability. Actively participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives led by the Reconditioning Manager.
