- Provide direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist children with daily routines, such as feeding, toileting, and dressing.
- Respond to children's needs and provide emotional support.
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, Knowledge of CCEYA, Knowledge of licensing regulations, Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children, Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
Work closely with the supervisor/ Director.
Welcome and greet all parents daily, communicate with them for all concerns.
Monitor and Review Program Plans.
Monitor and Review daily logs in all classrooms including communication binders with parents. Monitor Classrooms postings are up to date, especially postings for Anaphylactic, Asthma and Program Plan.
Communicate daily with Supervisor and Director for any concerns affecting the Safety, Health or Well-being of Children.
Review the weekly schedule.
Replace any staff absences/vacations.
Set up field trips and Supervise.
Review Daily the classroom Attendance, make sure attendance are up to date and numbers of recorded in each classroom.
Conduct daily inspections and remove hazards from all the classrooms to ensure children Safety, Health and Well-Being.
Conduct daily observations of staff interactions with children to ensure all policies are followed, and log these daily observations in a log book.
Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping duties.
Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with the supervisor, Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
