We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Program and Administrative Assistant to support the smooth delivery of community-based programs that serve women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals. This position plays a key role in ensuring effective coordination across programs and services while providing day-to-day administrative support to the team.

About SWC (Sudbury Women’s Centre)
The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is a community-based nonprofit organization that supports women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced violence or other challenging life situations. We offer a range of programs and services that promote safety, healing, connection, and empowerment.
As our programs grow and evolve, we’re strengthening our team to better support the diverse needs of our community. This role is essential to helping the Centre operate smoothly and ensuring that program activities run effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and coordination support for programs and services
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and tracking of program activities
- Support data entry, file management, and document organization related to program outcomes
- Provide occasional administrative support to the Executive Director and Finance Officer (e.g., scanning receipts, helping track expenses)
- Contribute to internal and external communications, including basic marketing or social media tasks
- Help coordinate special events, workshops, and community outreach activities
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to ensure the effective functioning of the Centre
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in office administration, social services, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum 1–2 years of administrative experience in a nonprofit, social services, or community-based setting is an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a women-centered, trauma-informed environment
- Experience with social media or communications tools is an asset
- Commitment to SWC’s mission and values, including inclusion, empowerment, and community care
Additional Information
- This position is funded through a long-term grant to November 2029, with annual contract renewals based on funding and organizational need
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
- This position reports directly to the Executive Director
- This job is funded by the New Horizons for Seniors Program
