City Sheet Metal is a leading Manufacturer & Distributor of Aluminum & Steel Rainware systems, Soffit, Fascia, Roof Edge and associated accessories.

We are seeking reliable, experienced Production Shift Team Lead to be an essential part of our Production team. The Shift Leader leads the daily activities of work teams ensuring standards are met with respect to safety, quality, material requirements and work schedules. This is a hands-on-role which means that they will work along-side the employees which they are leading. This is a position of leadership, as such the company expects employees at this level to lead by example, and not only abide by, but also to enforce its rules of conduct.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
-Promote a culture of safety and quality across the production team
-Coordinate daily work for department
- Ensure orders are produced accurately and on time to ship date
- Coordinate material to be sent out to sub-contractor vendor
-Create and implement SOPs for the department to ensure accurately picking, packing and shipping of orders.
-Ensure workplace is clean and organized
- 5S audit conducted weekly
Inventory
-Oversee daily department cycle counts
- Ensure inventory inaccuracies / shortages are reported to leadership
-Incoming raw material / cardboard are immediately put away into their home location
Production
- Ensure work order packages are ready for machine operators
- Work Order
- UPC Labels
- Carton Labels
- Ensure all machinery pre-use inspections are completed
- Ensure proper raw material is used for each work order
- Manufacture orders as per schedule
- Box and label manufactured orders off the line
-Quality check are completed for manufactured and packaged goods
-Process work order in ERP system
-Ensure product is moved to appropriate staging area
-Ensure Raw material is put back into appropriate home location and correctly labeled
-Communicate tool maintenance concerns promptly
DESIRED EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years’ experience in a MANUFACTURING environment.
- 2+ years of proven Leadership experience (including supervising, onboarding & training)
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Basic mathematical and numeracy skills. Proven attention to detail, general documentation skills.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong command of English (oral and written skills).
- Attention to detail and a critical eye for identifying defects.
- Well organized & time management skills, proactive and positive approach in the workplace.
- Experienced Forklift Operator (2+yrs) (will be sent for refresher course)
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Being able to perform repetitive tasks.
The following knowledge /participation is considered an ASSET:
- Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, 5S training)
- Health & Safety Committee Member in Manufacturing environment
