POSITION OVERVIEW

As a member of the Production Team, the Production Lead is responsible for leading all production efforts within the sign & woodshop departments. They will assist in leading a team of sign technicians, print operators and woodshop technician in effective and efficient production operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, the ideal candidate will be a team player who can work well under pressure in both team and individual environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, guide, train, and mentor production technicians
  • Assign and oversee work allocation
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new team members
  • Communicating with other departments regarding potential problems or delays impacting deadlines
  • Establish work schedules for operators and technicians
  • Review time sheets for accuracy and approval
  • Coordinate cleaning and maintenance of production machines (printers, cutters, laminators, etc.) and provide routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Monitor signage print and application processes for quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Complete printing and sign manufacturing processes when required
  • Establish good interdepartmental relationships to help balance conflicting priorities
  • Establish and review standard operating procedures, practices, and policies
  • Monitor and lead worksite safety and compliance within production
  • Provide progress reports to Production Manager
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working experience with SAP an asset
  • Experience leading small to medium-sized teams
  • Positive hardworking attitude
  • Work efficiently and effectively to meet short timelines
  • Handle precise calculations in measurements, conversions, and other amounts.
  • Experience with Google spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of provincial sign specifications in Western Canada is considered an asset
  • Experience with manufacturing/lean manufacturing an asset

HOURS OF WORK

The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
