Part-time, casual, on-call position but can lead to full-time opportunities in an expanded role.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of our production and shipping processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for packaging, palletizing, and safely handling products, as well as operating industrial equipment to ensure high-quality production and adherence to safety protocols. In addition, the ideal candidate will have an excellent safety and attendance record and be willing and able to work back shift and/or overtime (both at a premium) when occasionally needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Packaging and palletizing finished product (max case weight is 50 pounds) onto pallets for shipping.
Loading and unloading materials and finished product in and out of storage and production areas.
Using a forklift to move materials, product in and out of storage areas and following all safety requirements relating to operating a forklift.
Setting up and operating industrial equipment, such as bottling and labelling machines.
Cleaning production and storage areas.
Compliance with health and safety regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Ability to effectively use basic hand tools, such as screwdriver, pliers, hammer, and wrenches. Must have good hand/eye coordination to monitor and adjust production line.
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, brief correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing simple correspondence. Able to clearly present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
Skills and Qualifications:
High School Diploma, Professional Studies Diploma, or equivalent.
Strong team player focused on efficiency.
Good speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
Experience with quality checks on packaging is a plus.
Knowledge of wrapper and conveyor systems is a plus.
Familiarity with Bottle Line Packers and conveyors is a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot packer/labeling operations is a plus.
Proficient in Palletizer operations and troubleshooting is a plus.
Must be available for various shifts; partial schedule availability will not be considered.
Forklift training or experience required.
Team-oriented, self-starter, and proactive.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and twist for up to 10 hours per day.
Must provide reliable and consistent attendance.
Positive, can-do attitude.
Manufacturing experience is an asset, but we value motivated individuals who are willing to learn and work well in teams.
Previous operator experience is a plus.
Requires good physical coordination and conditioning.
Reliable transportation required.
