As a Power System Protection & Controls Engineer, you will provide solutions and support that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.
As a Power System Protection & Controls Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
- Maintain and improve knowledge of power systems, protection, and all related SEL products.
- Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.
- Apply principles, theories, standard techniques, and concepts to provide solutions to a variety of problems.
- Contribute to product specifications, application and test software and literature.
- Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences.
- Teach SEL University courses in core areas.
- Publish application guides, notes, template guides, software tools, and/or technical conference papers.
This job might be for you if you:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent engineering degree).
- Have 2+ years of experience in power systems, industry practices, and protection.
- Have the ability to travel 25-30%.
- Can write and speak coherently in English; French is a plus.
- Listen carefully; provide positive, helpful and professional communication to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrate composure and professionalism under difficult circumstances.
- Like to take on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks & experiment to find new solutions.

Salary Information
$82,000 - $102,000 CAD per year. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more, or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
