JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Plant HR & Staffing Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various HR functions and supporting the overall HR operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of human resources management principles and practices, as well as experience with HRIS systems. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with appropriate business partners for peak season hiring and off boarding strategies as well as ongoing staffing needs
- Administer New Employee Orientation and onboarding and update as required.
- Maintain timely and complete communication between HR and other departments.
- Enroll all new hires and temporary staff in company HRIS and Time and Attendance system.
- Manage employee time sheets ensuring accurate coding and record keeping.
- Provide reporting and analysis of departmental labour (budgeted vs. actual) and hold teams accountable for overspend.
- Maintain IQMS labour, job allocation and assignments regularly.
- Preparation of various types of letters i.e.: offer letters, transfers, promotions, terminations, temporary assignments, contract extensions etc.
- Maintain all communication boards and interoffice communication.
- Lead JHSC and Company Health and Safety Program.
- Maintain and update WSIB, Safety Accident Records 5-S and all relevant records.
- Maintain company job descriptions and organizational chart, updating as necessary.
- Coordinate all legislative and company trainings as required.
- Maintain employee database, employee filing system and training records.
- Act as the first point of contact and advisor to leaders and employee providing effective counsel, feedback and coaching on a broad range of issues (performance, attendance, disability management, workplace investigations, employee exits etc).
- Participate in company event planning and employee recognition program.
- Update and maintain company policy and procedures.
- Provide assistance for third party audits to appropriate parties.
- Other duties as required.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of HR experience, ideally as an HR Generalist or Coordinator.
- Working knowledge of employment standards, government regulations, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and health and safety.
- A high degree of professionalism and independence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner and influence others.
- Experience working with various levels of an organization, by providing support, constructive advising, coaching and training.
- Experience supporting client audits and ministry audits considered a strong asset.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in manufacturing considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of IS0 and IATF standards considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
