We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh as a Placement Specialist for our Toronto office. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office. The successful candidate will lead daily operations from a support and administrative level, coordinating complex logistics and task assignments for client relationship projects while ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.

We will count on you to:

  • Formulate placement strategies by leveraging extensive risk expertise and industry knowledge to develop solutions that meet complex client needs.
  • Devise go-to-market strategies, advocate for the value of the placement function, and participate in pricing of services as applicable.
  • Instruct the submission of coverage specifications and obtain quotes from carriers based on the “assist, advise, and assume” transaction model.
  • Consult with client executives and teams to support client retention and new business development.
  • Inspect coverage binding for accuracy, ensuring the correctness of placement binders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with practice groups, insurance markets, clients, carriers, and underwriters to deliver cohesive client service.
  • Stay informed on evolving insurance and risk management market conditions and communicate major developments to clients and internal teams.
  • Lead complex placement and technical support activities on large accounts, ensuring procedural compliance, data accuracy, and timely renewal updates.
  • Provide management with insights on complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication, contributing to the development of effective solutions.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience in insurance placement, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of industry carriers, market conditions, and underwriting processes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

  • Prior involvement in developing and executing strategic placement or market entry plans.
  • Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or similar are a plus.
