Position Summary:
As a Home Support, you will assist clients with daily living activities in their homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and safety. You will be deployed to various locations within Interior BC based on client needs, offering both short- and long-term coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, medication reminders, and light housekeeping
- Build rapport and provide companionship to clients
- Follow care plans and document client observations accurately
- Travel between communities within Interior BC as required
- Maintain strong communication with the care coordination team
Requirements:
- Valid Health Care Assistant (HCA) Certificate recognized in British Columbia
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle (travel across Kamloops)
- Willingness to travel and stay in different Interior BC communities as required
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations, including COVID-19 vaccination
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Previous experience in community or home care is an asset
