Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role is essential in providing care and assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those with disabilities, the elderly, and individuals requiring support in daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide home care services such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
- Support clients with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental well-being.
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety.
- Offer specialized care for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is preferred, particularly in home care settings or assisted living facilities.
- Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Experience in nursing homes or similar environments is a plus.
- Skills in meal preparation and basic household cleaning are essential.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
- A compassionate approach to care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently are critical for success in this role.
